Family: Danann/"Medei"    Genus: Kobalos    Species: Pavursu latoris
AKA:
Böggeist | Buggeist | Böggebar | Bwg | Bögge | Bugbear
Lifespan: Like all the Danann the Böggeist don't die. There are ways to destroy them, but they will never die of any natural causes.
Abilities/Function: Fear-bringers; instillers of terror and dread
History:
A monstrous beast; wolf, bear and man twisted into a creature of nightmare with needle-sharp teeth, huge claws, and eyes like glowing embers. The Buggebar, or Böggeist is a spectre often used to instill fear in children and encourage them not to stray...

Legends associate the Böggeist with death, and for good reason, the beasts will take anything they can kill in an attempt to feed off their victim's dread; they like all their kin however have penchants for certain things, in this case strong liquors and objects which glow, shimmer, or glisten. Böggeist can also be tempted with objects associated with fears, and can at times be convinced into taking such objects in the bearer's stead.

Notes:
:bulletorange: Their senses of sight and hearing are unparallelled, allowing them to navigate pitch-darkness with ease and move with astounding stealth for their size.
:bulletblack: They blend well into surroundings due to their stealth, and are usually all but impossible to detect when still, dogs however can detect them; and many will attack Böggeist on sight.
:bulletorange: They are known for their banshee-like howl and their penchant for creating illusions; appearing as hellish hounds, headless beasts, and any fear their viewer may posess before vanishing in a plume of flame.
:bulletblack: Their fear aura is legendary, and strong enough that when unleashed the Böggeist can literally frighten their victims to death.
:bulletorange: The scent and energy of dread, fear, and panic nourishes the beasts; though they are capable of 'eating' anything going too long without fear will drain them as if starving. Some Böggeist take this to an extreme and will go out of their way to instill utter terror into their victims; some individuals hounding prey for days to heighten their fears and add energy to themselves as well as the meat before finishing them off.
:bulletblack: Like all kobalos Böggeist relish the hunt and battle, they look down on using weapons in such sport, and admire those willing to fight with tooth and claw. Using their skills to ambush prey, at times without ever being noticed, until the banshee-wail sounds and they lunge.
